Why we opened
Traditional dry cleaning often uses perchloroethylene, known as perc. Some methods sold as eco still rely on silicone solvents. We were not willing to run either through our machines, so we built a water-based shop instead.
The method
What wet cleaning is
Wet cleaning uses water and biodegradable detergent in a machine that can clean delicate fabrics a home wash would ruin. We call the finished service eco dry cleaning. It is the same process.
Your garments do not come into contact with perc. There is no chemical smell on the hanger. Clothes stay softer, which is easier on skin.
Water, not perc
The wash is water and biodegradable detergent. Perc and silicone solvent stay out of the machine.
Set for the fabric
We set the detergent, movement and temperature for your garment, not a one-size clean.
Softer on the hanger
There is no chemical smell when you collect. Clothes stay softer, which is easier on skin.
How we clean a garment
The order matters. Each stage is set for the piece in front of us, then the next one starts.
01
Inspect
We look at stains, trims and previous repairs with you before the garment goes in. Leather and suede wait for a conversation.
02
Wash
We set the detergent, movement and temperature for that fabric, not a one-size clean.
03
Extract
A high extraction spin pulls out most of the water so the piece is not left soaking.
04
Dry to moisture
The dryer stops when the clothes are ready. We do not bake them, and we do not leave the machine running.
Who we clean for
If you are a household
Domestic cleaning
Everyday clothes, school uniforms, duvets, designer pieces and wedding wear. Wash, dry and fold uses the same biodegradable detergents. Zips, hems and repairs can be done while we clean the garment.
If you host
Commercial laundry
We collect bed linen and towels between guests. A garment can be cleaned and altered as one job.
How we work
We come to you. We clean in water. We look at the piece with you before we start.
Water and biodegradable detergent
We clean in water with biodegradable detergent, and we set the detergent, movement and temperature for your fabric. We do not use perc or silicone solvent, so there is your clothes feel softer and fresher to wear.
Cleaned and mended together
A zip, a hem or a split seam can be done on the same ticket as the clean, by the same people, in the same building. You do not need a second trip to a tailor.
